J. Mark DeNicola, CPA/CGMA/CMA serves as the chief financial officer and executive director, sales and marketing for Centriworks-Thermocopy, a Knoxville-based business technology company. Centriworks-Thermocopy has been recognized as a leader in its industry by Imagesource Magazine having been named “Dealer of the Year” for its forward thinking corporate strategies and marketing style. Mark is also the founder and chair of Clarityworks, a subsidiary of Centriworks-Thermocopy. He established the company as a premier communications firm with strengths in brand management for both emerging and established businesses. Under his leadership, the company garnered national and international recognition for design excellence. Mark has most recently been recognized by Corporate Vision Magazine as their 2017 CFO of the Year – USA. He was also recognized by the Greater Knoxville Business Journal and Financial Executives International as their 2012 CFO of the Year.

Mark holds degrees in Accounting, Economics, and Business Administration (Cum Laude) and has a talent for identifying business opportunities. His core disciplines include capital project/acquisition analysis, budgeting, management, financial planning and control activities, new business development, and sales management, as well as business start-ups. Mark has enjoyed applying his operations and financial expertise in the analysis of various markets, including communications and marketing, energy resources, and retail. Before joining Centriworks-Thermocopy, Mark, functioning as vice president of finance, was instrumental in developing and implementing a business plan at an $80-million concern which brought positive cash flow to the company for the first time in more than a decade.

Actively involved in the community, he currently serves on the board of the Trinity Health Foundation of East Tennessee (past secretary and chair of the Grants Committee). He is a past president of the Greater Knoxville Tennis Association and has served as a board member of the Knoxville Area Chamber Partnership, Knoxville Football Club, Keep Knoxville Beautiful, and Mercy Health Partners Foundation (having served as the general chair of the “Labor of Love” tennis event and raised over $1,000,000 in its 14 year existence). Mark has also served as a vice president of the Tennessee Tennis Association and was a member of the Wheelchair Tennis Committee of the Southern Tennis Association. Impressed by the mission of the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, Mark founded “Game-Set-Match,” a charity that advances the cause of the disabled and raises funds for the Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center. The event was the winner of the Southern Tennis Association’s “Special Event of the Year” in 1999. Mark has recently turned his efforts to educating business leaders about the real bottom line benefits of adopting sustainable environmental business practices. To assist with this endeavor Mark created the concept of GoGreenET.com, a resource to help East Tennessee businesses “go green,” and worked to obtain the support and participation of the founding and media partners. The site is currently administered by the Greater Knoxville Business Journal.

In his free time Mark enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter (Connie & Elise), reading, playing tennis, and supporting daughter Elise’s development as a human being, scholar, athlete and musician.
